Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using Petter. They set out the basis on which you may use our platform and the limits of our responsibility.
Key point: Petter is a marketplace platform only. We connect you with independent professionals. We do not provide pet-care services and are not liable for any service outcome. See §7 and §8 for details.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Petter platform (website, mobile site, or any related application), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Petter Home Vet Services.
Platform Role — Marketplace Only
Petter Home Vet Services ("Petter", "we", "us", "our") operates exclusively as a technology marketplace and booking platform. Petter connects pet parents with independent, self-employed service providers — including licensed veterinarians, professional groomers, and para-veterinary technicians. Petter is not a veterinary clinic, grooming establishment, or pet-care company. We do not provide any veterinary, medical, grooming, or other pet-care services directly. All services listed on the platform are offered and rendered by independent third-party professionals who are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Petter Home Vet Services.
Independent Service Providers
All service providers on the Petter platform are independent contractors operating their own businesses or practices. Petter does not employ, supervise, direct, or control the professional judgment, clinical decisions, grooming techniques, or conduct of any service provider. The provider-client relationship is formed directly between the pet parent and the service provider at the point of booking confirmation. Petter's role is limited to facilitating that connection and providing booking, communication, and payment infrastructure.
Provider Verification — No Guarantee
Petter makes reasonable commercial efforts to verify the credentials, licenses, and professional standing of service providers at the time of onboarding. However, Petter does not guarantee, represent, or warrant the accuracy, completeness, or ongoing currency of any credential, license, registration, or certification. Credentials are provided by the service provider and are not independently audited on a continuous basis. Pet parents are encouraged to independently verify a provider's qualifications and ask any questions directly before or during the booking window.
User Representations
By using the platform to book a service for an animal, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are the legal owner or duly authorised guardian of the animal in question; (b) you have the legal authority to consent to veterinary and other services on behalf of the animal; (c) you have provided complete, accurate, and up-to-date information about the animal's health history, known conditions, medications, and temperament; and (d) you are at least 18 years of age. Petter accepts no responsibility for outcomes arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the user.
Acceptance of Risk
You acknowledge and accept that all home-visit pet-care services — including but not limited to veterinary consultations, treatments, vaccinations, grooming, and para-veterinary procedures — carry inherent risks. These include, without limitation, adverse reactions to medications or procedures, complications arising from pre-existing conditions, and unpredictable animal behaviour. Outcomes of any professional service depend on the independent clinical and professional judgment of the attending service provider, not Petter. By booking a service through the platform, you voluntarily and knowingly accept these risks.
No Liability for Service Outcomes
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Petter Home Vet Services expressly disclaims all liability of any kind for any outcome — including adverse reactions, injury, illness progression, deterioration of condition, or death of any animal — arising from services rendered by any service provider listed on the platform. Petter is not a party to the service relationship and has no control over the professional acts or omissions of service providers. Any claim arising from the delivery or quality of a service must be directed to the service provider concerned.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Petter's total aggregate liability to you for any claim, loss, or damage arising out of or related to your use of the platform — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the total service fee paid by you for the specific booking giving rise to the claim. In no event shall Petter be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or any other intangible losses, even if Petter has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Safe Access Obligation
You are responsible for ensuring that the service provider can safely access your premises and carry out the booked service. This includes securing any other animals, ensuring a safe working environment, and providing accurate location information. Petter is not responsible for any cancellations, delays, or service interruptions caused by unsafe access conditions, hostile or aggressive animals, hazardous environments, or failure to provide accurate location details. Service providers reserve the right to refuse or suspend a service on safety grounds, and Petter shall not be liable in such circumstances.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Petter Home Vet Services, its founders, officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the platform; (b) any action or omission of your pet that causes injury, damage, or loss to any service provider or third party; (c) your breach of these Terms & Conditions; or (d) any inaccuracy in information you have provided.
Booking, Payments & Cancellations
A booking is confirmed only when you receive an explicit confirmation from Petter. Service fees are displayed in full before confirmation. Cancellations made at least 2 hours before the scheduled appointment are permitted free of charge. Late cancellations or no-shows may attract a cancellation fee. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in restricted access to the platform. Refund eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with our refund policy.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Petter platform — including text, branding, logos, user interface design, software, and documentation — is the property of Petter Home Vet Services and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
Platform Availability
Petter makes no representation that the platform will be available at all times, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the platform at any time without notice. Petter shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from planned or unplanned downtime.
Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, the platform, or any service facilitated through it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.
Changes to These Terms
Petter reserves the right to revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Continued use of the platform after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
